A 10-night charter to Cocos Island, Socorro, or Raja Ampat routinely runs $5,000 to $12,000 per person — and the cancellation exposure is brutal: most operators require non-refundable deposits months in advance, flights are non-refundable on short notice, and the boats themselves are charter-booked end-to-end with no slack in the schedule.

Most divers know they need dive accident coverage. DAN World and DiveAssure are excellent for chamber treatment, surface intervals, and search-and-rescue. What they don't do well is trip cancellation. DAN's cancellation caps top out below the price of a single Aggressor week, and most dive-specific policies treat cancellation as an afterthought.
